shimmering colors in your Paintings. I'll take you through the entire video of my steps and process to create this beautiful shell Scene.
We will cover Dye's vs Pigments
How to create Shimmering colors with alcohol inks and watercolors.
How to use a Water-brush pen to create shimmery letters that you can use for your wedding, bridal, or shower invites!
Let's talk a little about Dyes vs Pigments. We'll discuss the differences between the two and we'll view a few options and how they work differently.
Let's explore different types of Alcohol inks and mediums or pigments that we use to create shimmering colors.
Students will try a few other options like blending solutions with pigments and creating texture as well as soft over all look with your shimmers. We will mix some colors and create your own color mixtures from your mediums.
Using Watercolor ink on yupo paper we'll create water based shimmers. Students will practice how to mix the pigments and try them on yupo paper and watercolor paper. See how they blend differently.
Now let's practice creating shimmer colors with watercolors. See how the pigments looks once the water has evaporated.
Now that we have tried Alcohol Ink , Watercolor Ink, and Watercolors, let's explore how to use India ink and shimmer in a waterbrush pen. We'll practice using on watercolor paper and envelopes for lettering.
Let's learn a few more options to use the pigments with. Let's talk about an easy way to add a little shimmer of pigments on top of a boring watercolor.
Create your own Shimmer paint palette.
Students will learn a quick and easy beginners way to trace using a window.
In this lecture we will mask in our shell project and learn how to use a calligraphy pen to draw out the outline using yupo paper and alcohol inks.
Using brea Reese alcohol inks, we will paint in the shell using very light and natural colors. We will be using a waterbrush pen filled with alcohol to blend and more the inks in a very easy relaxed fashion.
Adding some drops of alcohol inks using a wonderful wet in wet background. We'll use a brush to lightly move the colors around.
Now let's add a dry brush and add a soft sheen of color over your background.
Let's finish up our project and lift off the masking to leave a crisp edge, then students will add some doodling along the shell for an extra touch of fun.

Students will walk through how to create a mood board using a easy program.
