In this Lecture you will learn how to disassemble your used pair of jeans into flat pieces ready for the pattern pieces.
You will cut both the inside and outside pockets for your tote bag from the jeans' pocket sections.
This video shows you how to make and cut the patterns for the body of the tote bag.
In this section, you will learn how to disassemble a used men's tie and prepare it for use at the top edge of your tote bag in Lecture 10 below.
You will learn how to place the pockets on the inside and outside of the tote bag, fix it down with some glue, ready for sewing.
In this lecture you will learn how to stitch the pockets to the tote bag.
You will be stitching the panels of the tote bag together after stitching the pockets down.
In the first part of two lectures you will be finishing the top edge of your tote bag. You can choose to leave it raw, unfinished, or you can fold it down and stitch it.
In this second part, you will be finishing the top edge of your tote bag with the used men's tie you prepared in Lecture 5 above.
In this lecture you finish your tote bag by adding the straps to it.
In this course you will learn how to upcycle a used pair of jeans into a stylish tote bag. This is a course about sewing and upcycling, you will use all parts of the jeans. The used pair of jeans is taken apart and the the tote bag pieces are cut from the legs of the jeans, the bag straps from the side seams or the waistband. You will also learn in additional free tutorials how to customize your bag to your taste.
