Explore the ServiceNow user interface, including the banner, navigation pane, and content area, plus top-bar tools like profile, search, and settings for theme personalization.
Discover how glide record queries are built and executed in ServiceNow. Apply addQuery filters and the dot query to retrieve and process active incidents, then practice in your developer instance.
Create and update incident records with glide record, covering CRUD operations, setting reference fields via sys_id or display values, and capturing the new record's sys_id and number.
Explore how glide record secure enforces ACLs and access controls, ensuring only authorized users can create, read, update, or delete records, unlike plain glide record.
Explore essential GlideRecord methods in ServiceNow, including new record, insert, update, delete, and delete multiple. Learn to use add query, addEncodedQuery, getEncodedQuery, getRowCount, hasNext, next, orderBy, and orderByDescending.
Explore the current object, a server-side glide record for a single incident, to access and update fields like short_description, user_name, or email_ID within business rules, UI actions, and workflows.
Discover how the current object powers server-side ui actions on incident records, printing data with gs.addInfoMessage and updating fields via current.update.
Learn how to use the current object in ServiceNow workflows to set and fetch values, avoid current.update, and rely on automatic updates in UI actions and workflows.
Explore the differences between glide system (gs) and glide record (gr): gs is preinvoked and provides user details, session and time, while gr queries tables and records and requires invocation.
We explore glide system time and date methods, including gs.now and gs.nowDateTime, and profile time zone settings. We also cover lastWeek, hoursAgo, dateDiff, BeginningOfToday, addInfoMessage, addErrorMessage, logs, eventQueues, and properties.
This lecture demonstrates an onChange client script that auto populates the incident assignment group from the selected configuration item using g_form.getReference and cmdb_ci details.
Explore Glide user, a client side object that exposes the logged in user's id, username, roles, and other details, accessible via g_user in client scripts.
Explore the Glide user object properties and methods, including g_user.firstName, lastName, userID, username, and getFullName, and learn how to check roles with hasRole and hasRoles in client and server contexts.
Discover how glide ajax enables client scripts to call server side code via script includes, returning an xml response, with synchronous and asynchronous call differences.
Create a Glide Ajax script include, name it, and enable client callable true. Implement function call me returning 'You sent' and the parameter, and note async equals sync.
Learn the structure of a client script with GlideAjax: define the script include, pass parameters, set sysparm_name, and use synchronous getXML or asynchronous calls, optionally using ga.getAnswer.
Shows how to build a Glide Ajax call between a client script and a script include TestAJAX on an incident form, passing parameters and updating the description with the response.
Explore debugging in ServiceNow, uncovering why we need it and examining server side and client side debugging.
Learn client side debugging in service now using alerts, console logs, and the JavaScript executor to test onchange incident scripts, fetch assignment group details, and populate the short description.
This training course is for ServiceNow Development. With a duration of around 8 hours, split into 11 sections, the course covers the topics which are required for developing the ServiceNow platform.
For the instructions in this training course, the latest New York Version of ServiceNow instance is used and whole training will be in the latest UI 16. Some part of the course is recorded in Madrid version
This course contains close to 8 hours of training videos. The last section deals with the creation of custom applications based on requirements. In this section, we will be doing a Hands-on session in the ServiceNow system.
A real-time hands-on experience would give us more grip on the ServiceNow system rather than just going through fancy slides. That's the reason I focused on the content-oriented training course.
Please understand that this is an Intermediate Level Course. You should have some knowledge already on the ServiceNow Admin concepts. In addition to that, knowledge of any coding language is required to understand the course, as we are going to deal with the scripting part while configuring. Basic knowledge of Javascript is recommended.
We will be talking on many key scripting items in this ServiceNow Developer course.
Below are the key items which we would be covering;
Working in Application Studio for developing custom applications in ServiceNow
Directions on which configuration should be used - like Business rule or Client Script or UI Action, etc
Configuring Scripted Scheduled Jobs which run on a specified time period
Creating basic reports in ServiceNow platform
Good understanding of Server and Client APIs like GlideSystem, Glide Record, Glide Form, Glide Ajax, Glide User, etc
Making a column unique in a table
Useful methods in Out of The Box APIs
Setting ACL restrictions on tables and records in ServiceNow
This course would also help you to get closer to the concepts required for ServiceNow Application Developer certification
I always believe in student satisfaction, if you have any question on ServiceNow, feel free to post your question in the Q&A section, I will respond :)
