Instructor
Marcin Reszka is one of the most sought-after self-defense experts in the country. He has been a leading Krav Maga instructor and Self-Defence instructor for 15 years. During the last few years while training students at his gym, working with select private clients, and running seminars for security personnel on the close protection circuit he has developed his own unique approach to self-defense. His self-defense journey started in Poland as a boy when he came across some martial arts books as a youngster and decided to begin training in “tae-kwon-do” before switching to kickboxing and boxing through his teenage years. He had one aim, to take out of it as much experience as possible in regard to their application for self-defence. He then joined the infantry mountain division in the Polish Army for three years including a 12-month operational tour as a member of the NATO peacekeeping in Kosovo moved to the UK in his early twenties and studied Krav Maga full-time. He also found time to study Brazillian jujitsu and is currently a brown belt under legendary Roger Gracie. Marcin also gained valuable experience from years of working on the doors of London bars and nightclubs. This long journey influenced Marcin’s view on self-defense, combat, fitness, and life in general. His passion is to pass on his knowledge and empower people to be able to carry themselves with confidence and avoid threatening situations to defend themselves if needed. He has created the Urban Self Defence programme to deliver this vision combining effective self-defence instruction alongside functional fitness workouts.
