
In this short lesson I will explain the difference between a CAT TOOL and a Machine Translation
You will get to know which are the main language resources a CAT TOOL is based on.
Matches can either be provided directly by the TM (those are present therein before starting the translation process) or still through the TM but deriving from the to-be-translated Document itself. By watching this lecture you will understand how this system works
In this lecture, I will explain the general idea of Full Matches, Fuzzy Matches, Repetitions and Internal Fuzzies (they seem to be similar but not exactly the same)
If you want to follow the same translation process as shown in the video, you can download this file and use it as a sample document for your translation process. The document is in English, and you can translate it into any language you like. (Not necessarily into Italian, as shown in the video). I also suggest that you create a folder called Simple File Project where you want to store the sampletest.docx file and where you want to create a subfolder naming it Language Resources, in which you will save your TM and TB (Glossary).
In this lesson you will learn how to generate an Analysis Report manually. You need to take this action when you create a Single File Project because the Analysis Report will not be generated automatically. On the contrary, if you create a Standard Studio Project the Analysis Report will be generated automatically. Anyway, this process is to be followed whenever you want to generate a new Analysis Report even in case you have created a Standard Studio Project. You may need to do so, in case something has changed in your project (e.g. addition of a new TM or addition of a new document to be translated to the Standard Studio Project).

If you want to use DeepL MT integrated with your Trados Studio, the first thing you need to do is to register and create an account with DeepL, then you need to subscribe either for the Advanced or Ultimate Plan (the cheapest plan called Start cannot integrate with any CAT TOOL). Once you have created a valid subscription you can get hold of your API Key which must be entered into Trados DeepL Plug-in. This latter needs to be downoaded from Trados AppStore and installed on your PC.
