This is an introduction to the course. This very briefly tells you about what will be covered in the course.
After completing this lecture you should be able to create your account and join scratch
Understanding the concept of the 2-dimensional cartesian plane is of utmost importance to master the movements on scratch screen. This lecture will help you grasp the concept in an elaborative manner.
In this lesson, you move the sprite on the screen in a commanding manner. You apply the knowledge acquired in the previous lesson and manage the motion of sprites in XY plane.
In this lesson, more motion blocks are explored.
Since our goal is to become a better future programmer, this programming challenge will help you to start thinking logic and start your journey as a programmer.
Another programming challenge to help groom your problem-solving abilities and introduce you to the world of programming.
We will not spare a single motion block and master each and every block so this lesson introduces you with the remaining motion blocks.
Events blocks are introduced in this lesson and you get a flavour of event-driven programming which teaches you to trigger action on different events.
You create your first interesting animation project by using you knowledge acquired so far.
Another interesting animation that helps you to master the concepts and knowledge acquires so far. You will be more confident after completing this project.
You will get a detailed look into the Looks block and create some interesting things with them.
After completing this lesson, you should be able to understand Sound blocks and use them in your projects.
Another animation project where you will be using your knowledge acquired so far, specifically Looks and Sound blocks.
In this lesson, you will be introduced to control structures and how they can be used to build logic in your programs.
After completing this lesson, you will be able to use sensing blocks and create more sophisticated programs.
You can use operator blocks for logical and arithmetic operations and much more. This lesson will provide you with that understanding.
Create User Interface Elements first
Add functionality to the pong game
Add multiple levels to the game
Create a jumping game where the character jumps over the obstacles and scores on each successful jump
This course introduces you to the world of programming with the help of the Scratch programming language. You develop multiple animations, games, and some serious programming projects during this course. After completing this course you will be ready to learn more complex programming languages such as Java, Python, and C#.
Other than various examples, you will be creating 3 major animations, 2 interesting games, and 2 advanced projects during this course.
The focus of the course is to enable you to think like programmers and be able to develop any animation or game on your own. This is where this course deviates from the typical scratch courses where the focus is usually only on follow-along instructions.
Dedicated lessons have been provided on various code blocks categories such as Motion, Looks, Sound, Control, Events, Sensing, and Operator.
Each section has examples and projects to enforce the concepts taught in each section.
Since the course is designed for kids and nonprogrammers, I maintain a special focus on the fun part of the learning.
I am confident that this course will enable the kids and other students to unleash their creativity and provide them with a competitive advantage over their classmates or fellows.
I am looking forward to seeing you on the course.
