Course content

1 section • 14 lectures • 1h 21m total length
  • Introduction - Dr Lisa introduces the course outline and theme.5:17

    Dr Lisa introduces the course which focuses on why it is crucial for humans to understand that the language we use has consequences not only for companion animals like dogs and cats but for animal species in general, every single day.

  • RECONNECTING WITH YOUR DOG - the core principle of a dog GUARDIAN.9:58

    Dr Lisa discusses the gravity of the core principle of RECONNECTING WITH YOUR DOG and how this dramatically contrasts with an 'owner' mindset.  Dr Lisa also includes discussion of several factors highlighted in the 2015 scientific study performed by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the relatedness between:
    * the relinquishment of dogs and cats to shelters/re-homing; and
    * the human conditioned mindset.

  • The principles of a dog GUARDIAN.6:15

    Dr Lisa reminds us of the core GUARDIAN principle and further discusses the key principles of a dog GUARDIAN that, due to the very definition of the word GUARDIAN, are a GIVEN.
    given (noun):
    A known or established fact or situation.

  • The Four Simple "AM I's...?" - the questions that a dog GUARDIAN always asks.3:19

    Dr Lisa outlines her refreshing and innovative concept The Four Simple "Am I's...".  Four simple, yet fundamental questions that a dog GUARDIAN always asks themselves in any situation when our dog may not be responding to us in the way that we'd like them to.  These simple questions consider the situation from our dog's point of view, which:
    * keeps us emotionally connected and RECONNECTED with our dog;
    * keeps us in communication with our dog;
    * removes the blame that we place on ourselves when we're not seeing 'success' in teaching our dog 'appropriate' behaviour;
    * bypasses our human CONDITIONED mindset which is the source of judgement, blame and other negative emotions that DISCONNECTS us from our dog.

  • SCIENCE IN EMOTION - Dr Lisa's GROUNDBREAKING THEORY.11:41

    Dr Lisa shares her GROUNDBREAKING THEORY 'science in emotion' which demonstrates how your human EMOTIONAL mindset is inherently intertwined with, and directly influenced by, your human CONDITIONED mindset.  Both of these mindsets are fluid and dynamic within any given moment.  Your human emotional mindset and human conditioned mindset:
    * affects the physical health and welfare of your dog;
    * affects the mental health and welfare of your dog; and
    * influences and may even determine whether you are likely to emotionally disconnect from your dog, give up on, abandon or
      surrender your dog.
    Dr Lisa also includes an interesting discussion of various scientific studies illustrating:
    * different human emotional states;
    * their implications on the physical and mental health and welfare of companion dogs; and
    * why it is critical that we shift our human emotional mindset to the experience of living the mindset of a GUARDIAN for our dogs.

  • Living the mindset of a GUARDIAN: Raising the collective human consciousness.4:24

    Dr Lisa talks about making the choice to simply RECONNECT with our dogs every day and live the mindset of a dog GUARDIAN.  Dr Lisa also reveals how this lived experience will bring us some amazing by-products, simply by raising our collective human consciousness. These amazing by-products not only occur on a local level within our own communities, but they also have broader reaching effects within the dog training industry and the animal care industry, as well as on a global scale.

  • Practical Lecture - Training in the mindset of a GUARDIAN.5:44

    Dr Lisa outlines how training in the mindset of a GUARDIAN translates into real world opportunities as well as training sessions in general.

  • Practical Lecture - What contributes to your dog's emotional state?6:55

    Dr Lisa describes the main contributing factors to your dog's emotional state, as well as your human emotional state.

  • Practical session - Training video 13:17

    Dr Lisa narrates a training session incorporating the contributing factors outlined in the practical lectures.

  • Practical session - Training video 21:48

    Dr Lisa narrates a training session incorporating the contributing factors outlined in the practical lectures.

  • Practical session - Training video 32:13

    Dr Lisa narrates a training session incorporating the contributing factors outlined in the practical lectures.

  • Practical session - Training video 43:28

    Dr Lisa narrates a training session incorporating the contributing factors outlined in the practical lectures.

  • A human example: apply this and live in the mindset of a dog GUARDIAN8:34

    Dr Lisa talks about an interesting human to human example of GUARDIANSHIP that also provides a simple link in showing how humans can LIVE the mindset of a dog GUARDIAN.

  • How do you know if a dog trainer is 'good'?8:08

Description

This course focuses on why it is crucial for humans to understand that the language we use has consequences not only for companion animals like dogs and cats but for animal species in general, every single day.   Dr Lisa discusses this in the context of living the mindset of a GUARDIAN for your dog, rather than an 'owner'.  Dr Lisa also introduces her groundbreaking theory... 'science in eMOTION', and outlines the pathway that having the mindset of a dog GUARDIAN has; not just on a local level within our own communities, but also on a global scale.

Dr Lisa uncovers her groundbreaking theory 'science in eMOTION' and explains how your human emotional state affects your ability to reconnect with your dog which ultimately affects your dog's mental and physical health and welfare.  This is especially critical when we consider the two 'types' of dog 'trainers' - those that use CURRENT BEST PRACTICE science based methods like positive reinforcement and reward based training... and those who use old science based on methods like punishment and aversive methods like shock collars or 'e' collars, prong collars, choke chains and other intimidating methods that inflict pain, anxiety, and fear in dogs.

Dr Lisa reminds us that whilst science may help us in many ways, science provides only techniques and methods or ways of doing things... science is not designed to provide scientists or humans with the ability to align our 'knowledge' with a higher intelligence so we can gain wisdom.   Dr Lisa's unique theory 'science in eMOTION' uncovers the simple way of gaining this wisdom through the universal concept of GUARDIANSHIP.  Dr Lisa also reveals how this simple yet effectual concept provides a UNIVERSAL WAY FORWARD for the veterinary industry, the dog training industry, the dog breeding industry, and for every human that has a dog in their life... this universal way forward ultimately raises our human collective consciousness simply by living the mindset of a dog GUARDIAN.

Who this course is for:

  • Dog trainers, dog breeders, veterinarians... EVERY SINGLE HUMAN on the planet that has a dog in their life.
