Course content

1 section22 lectures1h 14m total length
  • Welcome1:40

The integrated lesson plan covers aspects like- SMART Objective, ABCD of learning objective, Bloom's Taxonomy, Cone of Learning, Multiple Intelligence, Differentiation on content, process, product, people and environment, Slow Learner Strategies. Gifted Learner Strategies, Checking for Learning and Checking for Concentration all integrated into one lesson plan. First, each aspect is described in brief. There is a model of an Integrated lesson plan. The implementation and follow up strategies for an integrated lesson plan is discussed in brief.

  • Introduction1:24
  • Pre-Planning Integrated Lesson Plan (SJ's ILP)3:05

The pre-planning chapters will cover the following aspects in brief and with examples as applicable

    Smart Learning Objectives

    Bloom’s Taxonomy on Learning Objectives

Differentiation Content, Process, Product & Environment

    Cone of learning

    Multiple Intelligence

    Slow learners

    Gifted Learners

    Checking for Learning & concentration

Model of Integrated Lesson Plan (ILP)

  • SMART Learning Objective and ABCD of Learning Objective1:10

SMART Learning Objective has a meaning for each of its letters.

  • SMART Learning Objective- "SPECIFIC"1:59
  • SMART Learning Objective- "MEASURABLE"1:39

In SMART Learning Objective the second letter M stands for measurable. The learning objective should be measurable.

  • SMART Learning Objective- "ATTAINABLE"1:25

In Smart Learning Objective the third letter A stands for attainable. The learning objective should be attainable in classroom settings.

  • SMART Learning Objective- "RELEVANT"1:14

In SMART Learning Objective the fourth letter R stands for Relevant. The learning objective should be relevant to the content being taught.

  • SMART Learning Objective- 'TIME-BOUND"2:00

In SMART Learning Objective the fourth and last letter is Time-Bound. The learning objective should have a time in which they must be achieved

  • ABCD of Learning Objective1:43

ABCD of learning objective has the meaning for four of its letter. A stands for Audience, B for behaviour, C for condition and D for Degree.

  • Domains of Learning5:51

There are three domains of Learning is in practice in general. It is based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The other two are Psychomotor and Affective domains.

  • Cone Of Learning2:41

Cone of Learning was developed by Edgar Dale and it informs us as a teacher that how a student can retain the learning with maximum retention say after a gap of some time. Learning by doing is the best way to retain the learning objective after a gap of some time.

  • Multiple Intelligence (MI)5:54

Howard Gardner gave the concept of Multiple Intelligence. Initially, he gave eight MI found around us.

  • Differentiation Content, Process, Product and Environment1:13
  • Classroom Strategies for Slow Learners7:14

Slow learners are learners who take more time in learning and can reach any learning objective if given proper time and correct teaching-learning strategies.

  • Classroom Strategies for Gifted Learners3:42

Gifted learners are the learners who are able to answer questions for several classes above them. The gifted learner can be challenged and motivated during the normal classroom settings using certain specific strategies meant for them.

  • Classroom Strategies for Checking for Concentration5:37

Checking for concentration is the strategy for involving the students in the classroom for concentration.

  • Classroom Strategies for Checking for Learning8:04

As an eductor we need to know that students are learning what we are teaching during the normal classroom without any formative or formal assessment. Checking for learning is simple classroom strategies to know that the students are learning while teaching learning is going on.

  • SJ's Integrated Lesson Plan (ILP)12:54

This lecture includes SJ's Integrated Lesson plan with coding to be used during the lesson plan. Aspects covered and integrated in the ILP are

    ABCD of Learning Objective (AB)

    Bloom’s Domain (BD)

    Checking for Concentration (CN)

    Checking for Learning (CL)

    Cone of Learning (CO)

    Differentiation (DI)

    Strategies for Gifted Learner (GL)

    Multiple Intelligence (MI)

    Strategies for Slow Learner (SL)

    SMART Learning Objective (SM)

  • Implementation Phase of SJ's ILP1:05

In the Implementation phase, the prepared ILP is checked whether all the aspects are covered in it or not and it can be worked upon accordingly if all aspects are not covered or it the ILP is written wrong in certain ways and for certain aspects.

  • Follow-up Phase of SJ's ILP1:34
  • Thank You0:58

Requirements

  • The participants must have a prior information on Lesson Planning

Description

The course is second in the School Leadership Series. The first course was on school documentation. The series will cover various modules which a school leader should be aware of.

This course is about SJ’s Integrated Lesson Plan (ILP) which is a unique lesson plan covering several contemporary aspects in a teaching-learning setting. The aspects are as follows (not in the order as given in the course)-

ABCD of Learning Objective (AB)

Bloom’s Domain (BD)

Checking for Concentration (CN)

Checking for Learning (CL)

Cone of Learning (CO)

Differentiation (DI)

Strategies for Gifted Learner (GL)

Multiple Intelligence (MI)

Strategies for Slow Learner (SL)

SMART Learning Objective (SM)

Then one model of Integrated Lesson Plan (ILP) is explained. There is a checklist in the Integrated Lesson Plan which helps to integrate the aspects mentioned above in the lesson plan. There are many ways a lesson plan can be written. In the Integrated Lesson Plan, one can cover many important strategies for a fruitful and goal-driven teaching-learning process. The model is simple to make and imply in the classroom setting.

The Integrated Lesson Plan (ILP) can be used for any subject and for any grade level.

In the end, it also describes, in brief, the implementation and the follow-up plan.

The ILP lesson plan has been made with the help of various training, seminar, workshop attended by the instructor for the above-mentioned aspects.

Who this course is for:

  • Intermediate learner who can write their own lesson plan if a model is given and explained to them
