Description

This practical, school-focused gymnastics course is designed to help teachers, PE leads and sports coaches deliver safe, engaging and progressive gymnastics lessons with confidence. Filmed with real school classes of 27–30 pupils, you will see exactly how to teach gymnastics in a primary or secondary PE setting, even if you have limited experience or specialist training.

The course begins with a selection of gymnastics warm-ups and fundamental movement activities, before progressing through six fully planned gymnastics lessons that can be adapted for different ages and abilities. Each lesson is demonstrated with a different year group, showing how to differentiate, manage behaviour, organise equipment efficiently and ensure pupil safety at all times.

You will learn how to teach floor skills, balances, travelling, jumping and vaulting, bench work, partner and group balances, and apparatus-based circuit activities. Every gymnastics skill is broken down with clear teaching points, progressions and differentiation, making it easy to support beginners, build pupil confidence and stretch more able pupils to achieve greater challenge.

The course includes 20+ downloadable PE teaching resources, including lesson ideas, skill cards, task cards and technical guidance that you can use instantly. Delivered by Gemma Coles, a highly experienced school and club gymnastics coach with over 20 years of expertise and a passion for empowering teachers.
