Description

The main purpose of this video series is to increase the general knowledge level of the participants about school culture. In line with this general purpose, the concept of culture was explained in depth first. Why the concept of culture is important and the importance of the concept of culture in our daily lives were discussed. The definition of the concept of culture and the concept of school culture were emphasized. This training first drew attention to why people should learn school culture. Accordingly, the importance of school culture and culture were emphasized.

In this context, the basic elements of culture were first examined in detail, based on the basic reference people and books in the field. In this way, the awareness that the participants will gain about school culture was ensured primarily through the definition and elements of culture.

In the continuation of the video series, the basic components that make up school culture (values, norms, rituals, symbols and beliefs) were detailed and the visible effects of these components in the school environment were explained with examples. In this way, values, norms, rituals, symbols and beliefs were explained to the participants with examples given in the context of the school. In this way, the elements of school culture, rather than the elements of culture, were tried to be explained in detail in the context of educational institutions.

In addition, the characteristics of a positive school culture were explained to the participants with examples from educational institutions in the last video. Positive school culture was also supported in a theoretical context for the audience, with titles such as the importance of a vision focused on teacher and student learning or positive beliefs and assumptions about the learning and growth potential of students and staff.
