In this session, SAP PP (Production Planning) will be situated inside the different SAP funcionality.
Basic questions as what is an ERP, what is SAP and what is the module PP will be addressed.
In this session it will be explained in a graphical manner what is SAP PP (Production Planning) and what functionality involves.
In following sessions of this SAP PP course, this functionality will be explained further.
The Material Master is the main Master Data involved in all Logistic and Production Processes (including SAP PP).
In this session we will see an overview of how it is structured in SAP and the main maintenance screens and fields.
After understanding the concept in previous session, in this one we will see a Demo of how to create a Material Master.
Only main SAP PP fields will be seen. The Material Master is a complex object with different views for the different process and many involved fields.
BOMs (Bill of Materials) are needed for indicating to the system which components are needed to manufacture a semifinished or finished product.
They are used in different departments, but are very important for Planinng (SAP PP), as they are going to be used by the MRP for exploding requirements for Finished Goods down to the Components and Raw Materials.
Once the concept of Bills of Materials has been introduced, in this lecture a demo will be shown of how to create a BOM.
After it, the student will be able to access to the BOM maintenance transaction and create / modify BOMs entering the main SAP PP fields.
A practical demo case of the manufacture of a Bicycle will be used to ease the understanding.
Work Centers model the different machines or persons that will realize the work.
Each Routing Operation must be assigned to a Work Center (except when we are creating External Operations).
Capacity, Scheduling and Costing data will be maintained in this Master Data and they will be impact how the rest of SAP PP functionality behaves. These data will be explained in this session with the help of different graphical elements.
A demo will be shown creating a Work Center that is going to be used in the Bicycle manufacturing.
Capacity, Scheduling and Costing Formulas, used in SAP PP, will be shown.
Other of the most important Master Data to maintain for using SAP PP functionality are Routings.
In the Routings we specify the different steps in the manufacturing process.
After this session, the student will understand main fields involved and main functionality to configure in them.
Routings needed for the demo case will be created in the system in this lecture.
After this session, the student will be able to create this SAP PP Master Data, normally maintained by the Production Deparment.
Once we have seen main SAP PP Master Data objects, in this session we are going to see how to enter Planned Independent Requirements or Forecast to feed the MRP.
After it the student will be able to distinguish between Primary and Secondary Demand and how they can be configured in the system.
Following the demo case, in this session some forecast quantities are going to be entered for the finished product (the bicycle).
After it the student will be able to maintain Planned Independent Requirements and to know which basic functionality can be used.
MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) is the main tool in Planning. A clear understanding of how it works is needed for being able to use it.
In this session, it will be explained in a easy way in order to understand the basics of it.
Once we have created all needed Master Data for our Demo Case, and we have entered Planned Independent Requirements we are going to explode these requirements to the lower BOM levels through the use of the MRP.
After this lecture, the user will be able to launch MRP in a basic scenario, main process in SAP PP.
In this lecture you will learn:
In this lesson, you will learn:
SAP AFS, Apparel and Footwear, is a special solution developed by SAP to address the specific requirements of this Industry.
It will share the standard functionality seen in previous sessions, but adding new features.
In this session it will be shown what specific functionaliy has been developed for addressing main SAP PP issues faced in this industry.
In this lecture we will see a demo of main AFS functionality in SAP PP in the System.
SAP Production Planning module allows to plan Production and Procurement.
In this course the student will get an understanding of all involved Master Data in this process and in how to run the Materials Requirements Planning or MRP.
All lessons contain and introductory theoretical overview and a demo in the system.
For a better understanding a simple case study has been created where we simulate the plan of the manufacturing of a bicycle in SAP.
After an introduction and general overview, in the second section we see all involved Master Data. Then how demand is created, specially Planned Independent Requirements. Finally, we will see how to run MRP and a demo example analyzing its result.
This course will allow students to get an understanding of what this module offers and how to make a basic demo.
