Description

About the Salesforce JavaScript Developer Certification

The Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer credential is for individuals with experience building front-end or back-end JavaScript applications for the web stack. These skills can be applied to any framework and are not limited to specific devices.

This certification confirms both core JavaScript knowledge and practical development skills, especially for those working with Salesforce technologies such as the Lightning Component Framework and Lightning Web Components (LWC). LWCs are custom HTML elements built with standard HTML and modern JavaScript.

To earn this certification, candidates must complete two components:

  1. JavaScript Developer Exam – A proctored, multiple-choice exam focusing on JavaScript fundamentals.

  2. Lightning Web Components Specialist Superbadge – A hands-on challenge assessing LWC development skills.

These can be completed in any order. Earning both automatically grants the Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer credential.

Who the Certification is For

This certification is intended for:

  • Developers using JavaScript in one or more frameworks to build front-end and/or back-end applications.

  • Professionals who can design, develop, and test solutions that are efficient, maintainable, and reusable.

  • Those who apply JavaScript design patterns and work with CSS, HTML, and other markup languages.

Because LWCs use standard JavaScript, any JavaScript developer can quickly start building on Salesforce without learning a completely new language. Developers can leverage the Lightning Platform’s tools and modern JavaScript to create fast, scalable applications.

Typical job roles include:

  • JavaScript Programmer

  • Salesforce Developer

  • Full Stack Developer

  • Web Application Developer

  • Front-End Developer

  • Back-End/Software Developer

  • Support Engineer

  • Technical Product or Project Manager
