Description

Safe Motherhood is a course taught by Benter Adede a Registered Nurse. Benter has been working in antenatal clinic and maternity since 2021. She put this course together because she wanted to share her knowledge on safe pregnancy, labour and delivery. Many mothers lose their lives during pregnancy or childbirth and a few weeks post-delivery due to pregnancy and childbirth related complications. This course is designed to ensure maternal mortality is reduced to a minimum. In particular, it focuses on the pillars of safe motherhood and paying particular attention to the roles mothers play in ensuring their safety; seeking skilled and professional care.

It has been noted that immediate and effective professional care during and after labour and delivery can make a life-and-death difference for mothers and their newborn children.

The course is divided into 5 sections:

1. Introduction

2. Pregnancy

3. Labour and Delivery

4. Postnatal Care

5. Women with HIV/AIDS

There is an exam at the end with a passing score of 90%. Why 90%? Well, we are aiming at achieving more than 90% safe motherhood for all women. So, what is safe motherhood? To know more and to have a deeper understanding, enrol now and start learning!
