The end or back splice is use to finish off the end of a 3 strand rope in a neat and permanent way.

It starts with a crown knot followed by 3 tucks going back on its self and finished off with trimming the ends to make it neat and workable.

The short/Long splice is used to join two 3 strand ropes on a permanent manner.
Each rope is spliced into the other with three tucks for the short spice and five or more for a long splice The key here is to keep things tight and well tucked in at all times.

The eye splice is used to create a permanent loop or eye on a 3 strand rope.

Determine the size of the required loop before hand and remember to put on any eyelet or hook before you splice to ensure a good fit.

The first tucks are the most important to maintain a tight and well constructed splice. the it is just a matter of two more tucks to finish off a strong and permanent eye.

Splicing ski-rope is simple and easy to learn.

Make sure your end is well burnt and shaped to ensure you do not get it all caught up in the strands.
