Meet your trainer, a seasoned Autodesk professional with over two decades of experience in Revit and AutoCAD, guiding a practical, discussion-based Revit MEP 2019 essentials and intermediate course.
Explore how building information modeling replaces drafting with intelligent, parametric elements in a single project file, enabling automatic updates across sections, elevations, 3D representations, and clash detection.
Explore the Revit 2019 interface, including the project browser and families, opening projects, and templates. Learn to manage views, navigate with the wheel, and switch between perspective and orthographic.
Open and save as Revit 2019 files using US metric and imperial templates, download content online, and start projects with discipline templates for structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and systems.
Learn to draw and select in Revit MEP 2019, using snap settings, alignment lines, and duct tools to place ducts, fittings, and flex ducts, with multiple selection methods and filters.
Explore how to modify elements in Revit MEP 2019, using move, copy with constraints, rotate, and align. Apply arrays, pick axes, and extend/trim tools for precise placement.
Learn how to link an architectural model into a Revit MEP project, set origin to origin, manage links, and understand relative versus absolute paths, overlays, and levels.
Copy and monitor architectural levels and grid lines to keep changes in sync with the architect. Create mechanical, electrical, and plumbing floor plans with proper view templates and naming conventions.
Learn to batch copy a linked architectural model in Revit MEP 2019, using coordination settings to map plumbing fixtures and other categories while managing placement and functional limitations.
Explore view management in Revit by duplicating views—standard, with detailing, or as dependent—while understanding crop regions and visibility graphics. Create call out and use view templates to standardize detailing.
Explore elevation and sections in Revit MEP 2019: control view depth, width, and location, create interior and building elevations, and craft accurate three-dimensional sectional views.
Learn to add mechanical equipment and air terminals in Revit MEP 2019, selecting and loading families, placing air handling units and diffusers, and aligning components to ceilings.
Learn to add ducts in Revit MEP 2019 by drawing connections from the air handling unit to terminals, configuring duct settings, connectors, elbows, offset values, and automatic layout options.
Use modifying commands to adjust ducts and air handling units with move, rotate, and reference planes; apply sizing, cap open ends, and insulate for accurate, efficient system layouts.
Learn to create automatic duct layouts in Revit by configuring supply and return networks, selecting equipment, and generating layouts with rectangular and flex ducts.
Learn to test a Revit MEP 2019 duct system using show disconnects and check duct system, cap open ends, and inspect flow and static pressure with color scheme and legend.
Place plumbing fixtures and equipment in Revit MEP 2019, including water closets, urinals, lavatories, and a water heater, and connect them with piping systems manually or automatically, using reference planes.
Learn to manually draw piping systems in Revit MEP 2019, including cold water, hot water, sanitary mains, and connecting fixtures; configure pipe sizes, materials, slopes, and annotations for clear documentation.
Link and connect fixtures to the main hot, cold, and sanitary lines, then inspect and optimize 3d piping layouts for accurate copper connections and diameters.
Learn to automatically generate domestic hot water and cold water piping layouts in Revit MEP 2019, using the system editor and 3D views.
Learn to model electrical systems in Revit MEP 2019 by placing panels, electrical equipment, devices, and lighting fixtures, configuring electrical settings, tagging, and coordinating with ceiling plans.
Create electrical circuits in Revit MEP 2019 by connecting eight receptacles to a panel, configuring circuit details, and wiring lights with normal and emergency panels lp01 and mo1, including switches.
Learn to create and balance a panel schedule in Revit MEP 2019, using default templates, rebalancing loads, and manual redistribution to optimize circuits.
Learn to draw conduits and cable trays in Revit MEP 2019, select conduits with fittings such as rigid nonmetallic schedule 40, set start points and offsets, and test electrical model.
Explore BIMobject as a leading free resource for Revit MEP families across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical disciplines. Browse, filter, and download thousands of parametric beam objects after a quick registration.
In this course, you will learn how to create HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems. The course will show you how to Link Revit models from other disciplines. You will learn how to create Spaces and Zones, then make the energy analysis. The course will show you how to create the MEP systems, manually and automatically. You will learn how to annotate, tag, detail, your model, along with creating and printing sheets. Other advanced topics will be discussed in the course like creating several types of schedules. Finally you will see how to deal with worksharing in Revit.
This course is built over exercises. You will have two sets of files: PDF files which carries instructions, and RVT files which will be your starting point for each topic. At the end of each video, you will be instructed to open a certain file to practice what you learned.
