Description
Nine out of ten healthcare administration employees report that they wish they had learned more about revenue cycle management, healthcare finance, and big data analytics during their graduate studies. Rev Cycle Ready was created to bridge that gap. Whether you're new to the field or already working in a healthcare setting, this course equips you with the practical knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s data-driven, financially complex healthcare landscape.
This course takes a deep dive into the fundamental components of the healthcare revenue cycle—including RVUs, denials, write-offs, accounts receivable (AR), and reimbursement workflows—helping students understand how money flows through a healthcare organization. You’ll gain insight into how financial decisions impact operations and how revenue cycle performance ties directly to patient care quality and organizational sustainability.
In addition, students will explore the role of big data in the revenue cycle, using analytics to identify areas of opportunity, improve KPIs, and drive smarter decision-making. Through case studies, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises, you'll build confidence in key concepts that are often overlooked in traditional coursework.
By the end of this course, you’ll be better prepared to add immediate value to your organization and pursue roles in healthcare revenue cycle, operations, finance, or data analytics.

Hello, my name is Curtis and I enjoy solving problems. More specifically, I enjoy solving problems through logical, strategic, and data-driven thinking. I studied finance before finding my passion for healthcare, which led to studying healthcare administration at the University of Minnesota. My passion for healthcare come when my daughter was born prematurely, only weighing 1 lb at birth. This passion was inspired by clinical professionals who are driven to help patients heal. I love knowing that my work is in turn helping clinicians and patients. I've recently found a love for teaching complex subjects and simplifying them.
