What is Humanity?
Humanity is the human race, which includes everyone on Earth. It's also a word for the qualities that make us human, such as the ability to love, have compassion, to be creative, and not be a robot or alien to one another.
When people ask for money to help feed starving children, they're appealing to your sense of humanity. We got to reach out and understand their plight. Some people are in survival mode and we must recognise this.
So WHY do I see Humans BUT NO Humanity? I keep asking myself, where did we go wrong?
Understand YOUR Human Rights and know that we all have the same Human Rights. Let’s work together on building our country and Africa.
Let’s discuss OUR behaviour towards each other with work colleagues, friends and social circles. Start to appreciate everyone, irrespective of OUR race, religion or cultural backgrounds. Let’s find solutions on how we as a country can, can learn to respect and treat each other like humans.
I advise you to speak to a different person every day, for the next 7 days to understand the different beliefs and cultures. You will realise how good it feels to understand another race or culture. Give it your all and enjoy these exercises.
Today, let’s take the opportunity and discuss OUR behaviour towards each other with work colleagues. If you are not working yet, how about discussing with classmates.
We spend most of our social time with our friends, we may not know them as well as we think. Having friends from different backgrounds and cultures creates a spirit of ubuntu which is well needed
Nothing is more toxic and contagious than employees or students complaining. Whether it be bad-mouthing each other, gossiping about company leadership or complaining about our school system. Complaints are a mentality of defeat and it does not allow you to feel empowered. Let’s empower Employees and students to tackle any problems that arise, allow them to find solutions instead of complaining. I seriously mean finding solutions in an amicable way
When you are working in a Professional environment or in a school or university, allow employees or students to take ownership for their actions and attitudes. You will see your entire team collaborating on projects and offering suggestions to solve problems. They will start taking pride in their work and their contributions which leads to a purposeful and meaningful output.
One last point on Humanity is that schools need to play a major role in developing and creating better humans than merely producing students. We need to question the norm of “Getting excellent results vs Being an Excellent human being”. There needs to be a balance in terms of both gaining knowledge and being an excellent human being, both are equally important. As adults, we should help and direct the future generation towards developing themselves as humans with humanity as a strong value.
Together with Social Services, we should emphasize the importance to include subjects on teaching and practicing empathy, kindness, compassion, values of life, helping each other, saving yourself and others from harm (physical/sexual abuse).
When the pandemic arrived, we were becoming better humans. Now that we are settling down, we have gone back to our bad habits. Why is this? Let's practice how to be better humans for the betterment of our world.

This provoked my mind further into coming up with this program as I strongly believe, we can become Human again. Yes, we need to learn how to be human again. In my 30 plus years’ experience in the Social and Corporate world, I witnessed how humans were being treated, more like doormats to be trampled on. I personally have been a victim of name calling because my race or skin color was different. Some may think it’s as a joke, but little do, they realise the hurt it causes to a person. Many people just sit back and accept this kind of behaviour, I would like you to stand up and appreciate the fact that you have human rights that is set to protect you from this kind of behaviour.
