Description

Operating  and managing a restaurant in this modern time is not easy. Thin margins and evolving food trends make it very difficult, but competition from a multitude of dinning options is often cited as a difficult aspect of managing a successful restaurant. In fact, one in every five restaurateurs will obviously name tough competition as a top challenge for their business. However, there is always room for opportunity, in fact a lot of consumers do not know what they are going to eat for dinner just hours beforehand, so restaurant that can effectively market and position themselves wisely can win guest over a competitor.

One of the key things you can do as restaurant owner is to know your target audience and also define your customer persona, your target audience may be your regular customers, loyal customers and potential customers, understanding this group of people will give you the opportunity to clearly know what this people want and how they want it and when they want it, the best way to get information from your customers is to ask them directly and they will say it as it is, this kind of information will help you improve upon your business and help you to be more creative and focus. My advise to restaurant management is that there is no way you can win your competitors when the quality of your food is bad and your customer service is also poor, to lead or win in competition you need to improve about everything you are doing in the organization. Understanding your customer persona is good in helping you to clearly know their demographic and behavioral profile of the people that will be coming into your restaurant day and night.

Investment in modern technology is key in leading competition because it help the process of operation, and also ensure just in time delivery. Make sure your restaurant ratings is very high on the social media and other reputable media.  Consider providing customer incentives. Incentives whether rhey are in the form of temporary sales offers rebates rewards programs or targeted giveaway programs, are often a major part of customer focus. When you have identified what customers like, you can use these items to continue to reach out to your customer base. In other to become restaurant market leader, you need to deliver exceptional customer service and become customer centric.
