This course offers a comprehensive introduction to research methodology. Students will explore the foundations, types, and processes of research. The course emphasizes how to formulate questions, design studies, collect and analyze data, apply ethical principles, and effectively write research reports. It balances theoretical knowledge with practical application in real-world settings.
Throughout the course, learners will be guided through each phase of the research process, beginning with identifying a problem and conducting a literature review, and progressing to hypothesis development, methodological design, data collection, and statistical or thematic analysis. The course will also cover the distinctions between qualitative and quantitative research, helping students select appropriate approaches based on their research objectives.
Special attention will be given to ethical considerations such as informed consent, confidentiality, and responsible conduct, which are essential to maintaining integrity and trust in scientific inquiry. By the end of the course, students will not only understand how to conduct independent research but also how to critically evaluate published studies and apply evidence-based findings to their field of practice.
This course is ideal for those preparing to write a thesis, conduct academic research, or pursue careers that involve data analysis, policy development, or evidence-informed decision-making.
