Explore the four attachment styles and how they shape your relationships, helping you identify triggers and blind spots, move away from unhealthy patterns, and cultivate healthy, emotionally mature connections.
Explore how attachment theory origins in childhood trauma shape four attachment types, and how neuroplasticity links cognition and the nervous system to heal wounds and reduce reactivity.
Explore how secure attachment develops from nurturing, emotionally responsive parenting, soothing emotions, and non-judgmental guidance. Learn interdependence, healthy boundaries, and a realistic view of self and others in relationships.
Examine the anxious, preoccupied attachment type rooted in childhood emotional neglect and dysregulated emotions. See how clinginess, jealousy, and co-dependency shape adult relationships and patterns.
Understand the dismissive avoidant attachment type, which arises from early trauma and suppressing needs, shaping independence, fear of dependence, and a tendency to be cold or distant in relationships.
Examine the fearful avoidant and disorganized attachment type, showing how mixed parenting creates trust issues, anxious preoccupied patterns, and how repression and self‑awareness shift toward security.
Feel your emotions and express them healthily, then clearly communicate your needs. Practice open listening and acceptance to heal attachment patterns and deepen intimacy.
Explore the five signs of emotional maturity—growth mindset, healthy communication, open heart and open mind, self deflection, and authority—to build lasting relationships.
How you attach to other adults strongly corresponds with how you attached to others as a child.
Four distinct styles of attachment have been identified — and perhaps recognizing yourself in one of them is the first step toward strengthening your relationships.
The four attachment styles are:
Secure – autonomous;
Detached Avoidant – dismissing;
Anxious- preoccupied – preoccupied; and
Disorganized/ Fearful avoidant – unresolved.
Adults with these attachment styles differ in a number of significant ways:
how they perceive and deal with closeness and emotional intimacy.
ability to communicate their emotions and needs, and listen to and understand the emotions and needs of their partners.
modes of responding to conflict.
expectations about their partner and the relationship (internal working models).
