    Hello!

I am so excited that you are here! Thank you for signing up for my course, Reduce Chronic Pain. I am quite passionate about this topic as I lived with a very high level of chronic pain for a long time. During my journey to reduce my own pain, I learned so much. Due to my unique situation, I also got deeper insights into the connection between the brain and pain. I now want to share what I learned and experienced about chronic pain with others through this course.

Chronic pain is a vast and complex topic. There are many underlying areas to discuss in our approach to it. This course focuses on where pain comes from, the connection between the brain and pain, and then it discusses using 3 steps to reduce chronic pain. It discusses observing and assessing where we are right now, and how to approach daily living activities, and then physical activities. We discuss pacing in detail and go through examples of all these topics.

My course involves thinking, introspection, writing, observing, and tracking. I suggest using a notebook to go through this course. I like to use a notebook that I designated solely for chronic pain. I like to make lots of notes so I can refer back to what I jotted down many months or years later. It helps me see my progress over time.

Just a quick note to discuss who I am and what I am not - I am a brain injury survivor. I was diagnosed with chronic pain long before we discovered my past history with brain injuries. I was treated for chronic pain and went through many treatments, courses, groups, and also spent years at a chronic pain clinic when it became acute. I learned and experienced how to manage chronic pain in great detail. In uncovering the connection to my own brain and brain injuries, I then found even deeper connections between the brain and pain.

I am sharing a candid view of my life and my approach to managing chronic pain in this course. I take this approach because it might help someone to learn how to manage their pain and to understand pain and thus fear it less. Chronic pain can reduce a full happy life into a mere existence inside a small, tiny world filled with pain and dark emotions. My hope is that this course helps to show you how to move out of that small life and start to experience more while reducing and managing the pain that often comes with doing more.

I am not a medical expert or health expert. The content in this course is not meant as medical or health advice or as a replacement to any medical provider. It is important to work with your own medical providers to assess your own situation and pain levels. For anyone really struggling with their situation, you may want to just read through the materials and decide for yourself if you can take on some of the approaches this course has to offer. You should also talk to your medical providers about any concerns or questions you have about chronic pain. You have lifetime access to this course so you can always stop the course if you get tired or are just dealing with too much. Come back to the course when you are ready.

Best of luck to all of you, I hope you like my course! Let’s begin!
