Description

Struggling to know what to say or ask when your child reads? This course shows you exactly how to support them and build stronger reading comprehension—without needing to plan or prepare anything yourself.

In each lesson, I speak directly to your child as a teacher, modelling how to think, respond, and engage with the text, while you support alongside them at home. Using The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, you will follow a carefully structured novel study that builds understanding chapter by chapter through discussion, vocabulary development, and purposeful reading activities.

Starting a book series together is a powerful way to engage young readers and build the habit of choosing books independently. This course forms part of a series, with a follow-up course available for The Wild Robot Escapes, and Book 3 currently in development.

Created and delivered by an experienced, fully qualified primary teacher, this course removes the need for planning or preparation, giving you everything you need to support your child with confidence.

You and your young reader will be guided through short, engaging video lessons, printable worksheets, vocabulary activities, and creative writing prompts. Together, you will explore Roz’s emotional journey on a wild island while developing deeper comprehension and meaningful discussion around the text.
