In this course, I speak directly to your child, modelling exactly how to think, respond, and engage with the text—while you support alongside them. Using The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown, you will be guided through a complete, carefully organised novel study that models how to build understanding chapter by chapter through discussion, vocabulary development, and purposeful reading activities.

Building on the foundations of the first novel, this course supports adults in guiding children towards deeper interpretation, richer discussion, and more thoughtful written responses. It is ideal for children who are ready to move beyond basic understanding and begin exploring more complex ideas within a text.

Reading a book series together is a powerful way to engage young readers and develop the habit of choosing books independently. This course forms part of a series, with a follow-up course for The Wild Robot Protects currently in development.

Created and delivered by an experienced, fully qualified primary teacher, this course removes the need for planning or preparation, giving you everything you need to support your child with confidence.

You and your young reader will be guided through short, engaging video lessons, printable worksheets, vocabulary activities, and creative writing prompts. Together, you will explore Roz’s journey beyond the island while developing deeper comprehension and more meaningful discussion around the text.

Throughout the course, adults are supported in helping children reflect on themes such as belonging, freedom, identity, and responsibility, while strengthening higher-level reading skills.
