Description

A must-read course for project managers, coordinators, supervisors and management personnel.  RACI is a useful tool which helps in responsibility charting for a project. The RACI tool clearly defines ‘who is to do what, with whom and when’. This is of great benefit to avoid any confusion and for the overall process or project’s performance.  This course covers the following points:-

Purpose of RACI Matrix

Symptoms of Role Confusion

Benefits of RACI Matrix

Methods for Developing the Action List and etc.

The RACI Matrix is also known as the Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM). ‘RACI’ is pronounced as ‘Racy’ or ‘Raki’. RACI Matrix has been a well-known concept in the field of management for the past several years.  The primary aim or purpose of the RACI Matrix is to chart out and document the responsibility of each role involved at each phase of the Project. RACI Matrix is a tabular chart which includes a list of activities or decisions and the roles that different people play with respect to activities. Therefore, against each activity or decision, people in different roles are assigned a letter from the acronym ‘RACI’.

The activities or decisions are listed vertically on the left-hand side of the table whereas the roles are placed horizontally on the top of the table. You can understand that the RACI Matrix is generally prepared during the planning stage of the project. So, it helps to clearly and properly plan about who will be responsible, accountable, consulted and informed for each of the tasks involved in completing the project successfully.
