Here is an introduction as to what you will learn throughout this course and what we will be designing and developing with Clickteam Fusion 2.5
Let's start the Fusion 2.5 application and set it up
Let's take a look at how we setup the app visually. This is Part 1.
Part 2 of setting up the App Design
Let's finish up on the aspects of initial design and implement some strings/values that we will be using along the way!
Let's start development of our Quiz engine by inserting an Active object to handle the engine routines, a constant frame-based timer and some dummy test data.
In this lecture we look at how you can generate a question from our question list using your Quiz Engine
In this lecture we will learn how to create the available answers for the selected question. We will learn how to use the frame 'tick' to ensure we have a cooldown period before showing each one. This allows us to generate the answers, step-by-step.
In this lecture, we will code our events which allow our user to select an answer from the 4 possible answers. We will store this answer and setup some sub-groups, ready for us to code in what happens on each correct or incorrect answer given.
Let's see how we can highlight the answer the user selected and de-highlight the remaining answers.
In this lecture we will look at coding both sets of events for displaying the correct or incorrect answer.
Here we look at the Constant Timer (const_timer) we setup earlier on and how we can use this to build a real frame-based countdown timer for our Quiz.
In this lecture, we will look at how we can set a topic and grab the relevant series of questions for that topic. Apologies for half-way through this, Fusion decides not to play ball with the one-line event I tried to conquer this with.
In this section we will build our very own Quiz Editor (Questions and Answers), learn how to save the data to external file(s) and then load those up in our Game Engine
In this lecture we see how we can finish up by detecting the end of the Quiz and sending the player to an 'End' Screen. We also take across a sample statistic to show how we can use Global Values to do this.
Let's take a look over introducing an 'Intro' screen and setting player scores
Let's see how we can add a Player Profiles section to our Quiz Engine.
Let's wrap up what we have achieved in this course by designing and developing our own quiz engine, complete with a question/answer editor.
Let's detect when our player has run out of time on the countdown for answering the question; and do something about it!
Check out how to add a cool background effect for our Quiz Engine game!
Let's take a look at how we can save our user data (including scores) and track other statistics.
In this lecture, you will learn how to import sound effects and music for your Quiz Engine.
Learn how to create your very own Quiz Game Engine using Clickteam Fusion 2.5, an industry-standard, rapid application game development tool from Clickteam used by many Indie Game Developers and Large companies worldwide.
In this game development course you will learn a lot of Game Design and Game Development concepts but will also learn how to implement these concepts into your very own Quiz Game Engine using Data Saving/Loading, Custom Layout Design and a whole new game design approach. You will have access to the Course Forum where you can also discuss topics covered in the course and topics that aren't covered.
This game design course has been designed with all three levels in mind, beginner, intermediate and advanced. The reason this course offers a whole new game design approach is to ready-prepare you to develop a more intuitive game design along with learning some more in-depth routines which will guarantee to take you from beginner level to intermediate.
If you consider yourself an already-experienced user with Clickteam Fusion 2.5 then this course will take you to new heights in terms of game design and development. Orientated around designing a one-frame game engine with Clickteam Fusion 2.5, you will be creating a complete and cross-platform quiz game engine, where the entire game consists of just one frame, with potential for unlimited topics/rounds.
By the end of this course you will have developed the ability to:
And so much more!
This course also contains an additional polish/special effects section, so when you have completed the course, new ideas, suggestions and new videos will be added so you can further your development with your completed quiz engine and add new ideas and polish to your Cross-Platform Quiz Engine.
