Write down the reason you want to quit your day job
If your gonna quit your job and assuming you don't like your job. I would really encourage you to start working something you love so you don't have regrets about that.
Create a budget listing all of your monthly expenses and include the item for emergencies just in case. We've created a a template for you to follow so you don't forget anything.

There's nothing that stresses out someone more then having nagging bills in the back of your mind while your trying to work. Start reducing your debt before you quit your job. You don't have to be debt free but if you can eliminate some of the burden it will be huge.
Lower expenses: Cable Bill, Insurance, negotiate your mortgage.
Have a big garage sale and put stuff up on Ebay so you can reinvest into your business.
Start saving money just in case there are slow months in your business so it doesn't stress you out. You have some cushion and peace of mind while working at your dream job.
Don't wait for the perfect time or once you've actually quit your job before you start working on your business. Start building it now.
Look at your calendar and give yourself a time frame with a specific date you want to quit your job.
Leaving on good terms with your employer is so important because you never know if they want to hire you as a contractor or if you want to come back at a later date.
