Qliksense Practical Masterclass [A:Z]

In this video, we will learn how to create a data connection in QlikSense. Specifically, we will create a folder connection, load a source file, and save it to our laptop. We will then navigate to the folder connection where our data is located and retrieve it using this connection to begin the loading process.

After retrieving the data, we will proceed to the sheet section to ensure that all data inside the Excel file has been loaded successfully.

Creating a data connection in QlikSense is a crucial step in the data analysis process since it enables us to access data from various sources and make informed decisions based on our findings. By following the steps outlined in this video, you'll be able to create a folder connection and retrieve data in a streamlined and efficient manner.

One of the drawbacks of using Qlik Sense Desktop trial version is that we need to create a new connection each time we open the app, which can be time-consuming.

To create different charts in Qlik Sense, we can use the Assets section and drag and drop the chart type we want to use. Then, we can select the appropriate dimensions and measures for the chart.

Dimensions are the categorical variables that we use to group and organize data, such as the product category, time period, or location. Measures, on the other hand, are the numerical variables that we use to analyze and compare data, such as sales, profit, or quantity.

When we're creating a chart in Qlik Sense, we need to select at least one dimension and one measure. The dimension will be used to group the data, and the measure will be used to calculate the values to display in the chart.

While creating a chart, we can switch between Edit sheet and Done Editing modes. Edit sheet mode allows us to add or remove charts, dimensions, and measures, as well as customize the layout and appearance of the sheet. Done Editing mode, on the other hand, allows us to view and interact with the sheet.
