Des Lawton is a Shiatsu Practitioner, Qigong Practitioner and Qigong Instructor who has been teaching Qigong and Taiji since the late 1980’s. This course is part of a series of Qigong for specific ailments that he is producing. The first thing I want to point out is that the price does not reflect the quality of this course. The price has been deliberately kept low (with Udemy discounts and Pro-Holistic discounts) so that sufferers of chronic back pain have easy, inexpensive, access to these exercises. The course and the exercises are superb.
Des empowers some of his Shiatsu clients, those with chronic conditions, by teaching them the Qigong exercises that are most suited to their needs. This includes back pain, lumbar pain, etc. In doing so his aim is to get the person well in as short a time as possible and for that level of wellness to be maintained. This is not good business strategy as it means that his patients need to see him much less frequently and, in some cases, their ailment is reduced to the extent that they cease to be patients and become clients who have Shiatsu for relaxation. His aim has always been to make a difference.......... not a fortune.
Qigong does not produce quick fixes but, through time and practice, it has a cumulative effect on health and wellbeing. How long it takes is dependent on many factors, the biggest two being frequency and quality of practice.
If you follow Des’s guidelines in this course I feel sure that you will notice a difference......... but try to be patient with yourself and give the Qigong (and yourself) a chance.
"This is the second of Des's courses I have completed - I have another waiting - and the more I do of these the more I appreciate the way Des tells you everything you need to know and guides the through each stage carefully, sensitively, and in a friendly way. All in all you learn Qigong in great depth with it being a thoroughly enjoyable experience."
“Des Lawton is clearly at the cutting edge of Energy work today, and his sensitivity, humour, and instructional abilities integrate beautifully. This has enabled him to teach at all levels, bringing oriental thoughts & concepts to occidental minds, making these concepts tangible, and demystifying them.”
“Des Lawton demonstrates teaching-integrity and respect for his students, and knows how to facilitate student understanding, awareness and true progress, encouraging the students’ desire to learn. I’ve taken other courses from people who may know how to go through the outer movements with good form themselves and have impressive “temple” credentials and an exotic nationality, but they lack the ability to impart knowledge which is the essential attribute of a teacher and also calls into question their own depth of understanding.”
