Description
This course will take the students through a detailed Python course based on the 8 lessons, which include Data Types (Integers, Floats, Strings), User Input, Lists and Dictionaries, Conditional Statements, Loops, Exceptions, Functions, and Object-Oriented Programming. This course will take 4 weeks. Students will receive a certificate if they complete this course, and a certificate of distinction if they excel in the course.
What is CELLS Academy?
Computer Engineering Labs & Life Sciences: A learning space to understand both computer science and biology concepts. Our mission is to assist students in our local community by developing their computer science skills and incorporating biology with this rapidly growing field as a means of motivating them to build leadership and teamwork skills. We hope that our inspiration has a lasting effect and extends past the length of this course.

My name is Vayun Shyam, an entrepreneur with fascination for various markets around the world and their influence on culture. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the world’s hub of technological development, I have grown a deep passion for building applications and ML/AI models around customer feedback and product reviews. I have been working with object-oriented languages for past 3+ years, including Java, Python, C++, Ruby, and more. I am a current member of DECA, and I have experience competing and placing in the marketing and entrepreneurship clusters. Moreover, I was fortunate to gain some real-life business experience through designing and publishing my own apps and pursuing nonprofit endeavors.
My name is Rahul Ravi, and I am an incoming junior at American High School in Fremont, California. I am an instructor at CELLS Academy and hope to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders with my co-instructors.I participate in FTC, FIRST Tech Challenge, in which we have to build a robot and participate in community outreach events on a yearly basis.
Hello! My name is Jagannath Prabhakaran and I'm a high school junior. I have proficient knowledge in Python and I have worked on numerous biology projects. As a student researcher at a lab for the computational biosciences, I have been able to apply my knowledge and love for biology and computer science all in one. I've held executive positions in organizations such as Key Club, DECA, and BMES. I love would love to make a difference in our communities, and I hope to leave a lasting impact on all students!
Hello. My name is Charitha Gangi and I am a rising junior in high school. I have had the opportunity to learn and develop skills in several Computer Science languages while maintaining a field in biology! Being part of several competitive CS, math, and biology clubs since elementary school, I have developed several curriculum-based skills over the years. Additionally, I am on the board of directors for two non-profits, as well as being the Chief Membership Officer for a student-run organization. I am also heavily involved in Key Club, as I hold an officer position on the club and division level.
