In this course, I'll show you how to develop your own personal mission statement, your unique 'North Star.'
Your North Star is a powerful tool to navigate life's challenges and make decisions aligned with your values, your passions, what's important to you, and the impact you want to make.
It'll help you break free from the uncertainty and feeling of "meh" that you might be experiencing….and just live a life that brings you genuine fulfillment and excites you.

My name's Jeff Tan, and my personal mission is to inspire people like you, to overcome their self-limitations, to live a life of creative possibility.
I'm an innovation leader at one of the world's largest tech companies, an organization so committed to living its mission every day. I help large customers develop their North Star on their own journey to transform their business.
And what I particularly get a kick out of….is helping individuals just like you define their North Star. To discover what's important to you. What makes you tick, motivates you. What good looks like for you.
I'm a regular motivational speaker, I've been on the TEDx stage and spoken at conferences around the world… and I am also workshop facilitator on this exact topic.
I'm also a global ultramarathoner and am one of just a few people in the world to have a completed a full marathon on all seven continents, yes that's right I ran 26.2 miles in Antarctica recently.

So, if you're ready to get a bit uncomfortable, I'm gonna push you a little, that's all part of the growth process.
If you're ready to get started and be challenged, I'll see you in the course!
Cheers
Jeff

In this project, you will develop your own North Star, a personal mission statement that encapsulates your core values, aspirations and potential impact.
Through a seven-step process, you will gain clarity about what's truly important to you, and craft a guiding statement that provides clear direction for your life.
All you need is a notebook for reflection, or you can download the workbook in the Project Resources section, which contains helpful templates and prompts to support your journey of self-discovery.
Project Steps:
Assess Your Life: Rate your current life satisfaction and reflect on the reasons behind your rating. Envision your life in five years if nothing changes to gain clarity on your aspirations.
Unearth Your Priority Pillars: Reflect on various areas of your life and draft a list of things that hold significance to you. Narrow down to the top 3 to 4 priority areas that would greatly impact your overall well-being.
Define Your Heartbeat Principles: Identify your core values and narrow down the ones that are critically in shaping who you are. Add action verbs to these values to create instructional phrases that guide your actions and decisions.
Discover Your Peak Potential: Recall moments of flow and fulfillment in your life and identify the activities and themes that energized and fulfilled you. Compare the insights gained from these moments to gain clarity on your potential.
Shape Your Impact and Legacy: Reflect on your desired impact and legacy, envisioning the positive change you want to bring to the world. Write down your thoughts and aspirations for shaping the world around you for future generations.
Craft Your North Star: Write your North Star personal mission statement in one to two concise sentences. Continuously refine and edit it until it encompasses your core values, vision of "good," and the impact you aim to create.
Embrace Your North Star: Explore practical ways to integrate your North Star into your daily life. Identify potential obstacles and resistance you may face and develop strategies to overcome them. Take intentional actions over the next seven days to live in alignment with your North Star.
Final Deliverable:
Craft your final North Star personal mission statement, encapsulating your core values, purpose, and desired impact. Compose it in one to two sentences, adhering to the principles of a North Star: conciseness, actionability, inclusion of a why, extension beyond oneself, and facilitation of decision-making.
By completing this project, you will develop a deeper self-awareness and clarity of purpose. Your North Star will help steer your decisions, actions, and lead to a fulfilling life in alignment with your values and potential.
