Placing yourself on video is another form of public speaking. Often in today's career space, employers are asking for applicants to submit an intro job video. This is something you can include in a portfolio on your own as well to elevate you over other candidates. This is a beginner course on preparing yourself for your first author public speaking events and there are no prerequisites or materials needed.

In this course you'll learn how to jump into public speaking as an author and prepare to do presentations with confidence (in any situation!).

We'll cover 6 steps to follow to create the foundation for a successful public speaking event:

1. Pre-planning

2. Creating your presentation

3. How to use visual aids

4. Setting the stage

5. Combating anxiety

6. Going the extra mile!

As authors, we need to be in the public eye. Often this includes presenting at conferences, being a guest author at conventions, giving school assemblies, doing group author events, and more.

Saying YES to these opportunities will force you to get over your public speaking fear and open many new opportunities for you as an author.

The more you do it the more confident you become and the more doors will open up for you to build your author platform. We are all experts on our own path and you have much valuable wisdom to share with others.

Now, I know public speaking is a #1 fear of many people but we’ll help you tackle it in baby steps so it’s not so scary and you can take that first step to doing your first public speaking event and wade into the world of public speaking to help you build an influencing reader and writer community.
