Description
Many common medical problems like asthma, ulcers, insomnia, headaches, hypertension, cardiac blockage and viruses interact with the stress in our lives. Those stressors include: stressful events, our personalities, behaviors and social interactions. In order to protect our physical health from damage, we need to find ways to protect ourselves. In this course, we'll learn more about how techniques such as biofeedback, relaxation exercises, meditation, hypnosis, cognitive training and support groups can bring relief. You'll get an overview of the most successful ways to find relief.

Instructor
I have a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Chicago and I'm a full-time faculty member in the Psychology Department at a large state university in California. I have taught at the college level for more than 20 years. I teach both in-person and online. Currently, I lecture on Abnormal Psychology, Critical Thinking, and the Field Placement Courses on a regular basis for students at our university. I love being with students in any sort of learning environment.
