Description

By engaging in these six short sessions, you will understand the essentials of psychological first aid and the specific challenges of delivering psychological first aid in online environments. There are a range of supplementary tasks to assist your learning and help you improve your understanding of common mental health disorders. The module is targeted for esports players and the gaming community, but is open and applicable to anyone who may be interested in developing skills to offer basic levels of peer support in psychological first aid for wellbeing. At the end of the course, you will be eligible for a certificate demonstrating that you have completed the psychological first aid component of our Player CARE Coaching training.

Before undertaking the course, we ask that all users complete a short survey from our evaluation partner 'First Person Consulting'. The survey will take under five minutes and assesses your baseline mental health literacy. The link is in your initial welcome message. We ask you to complete the same survey on completion to identify any changes in your learning. If you are yet to complete the survey, please do so now (section 1 of the course).

The course was created by Dr John P. Mills, a British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist and founder of Play Aid CIC. Play Aid is supported by Global Men's Health Charity Movember.
