What you'll learn
- Students will learn how to proofread and self-edit their books and why it's so important.

Description
Have you finished your book? Ready to publish a blog? Releasing website content? Before you press that submit button and reveal your writing to the world, be sure to proofread and self-edit your material. Writers are often eager to publish and don't take the steps necessary to ensure that their writing presents themselves professionally. When you publish, you tell the world who you are! Be sure that you are telling them you are the expert not just in the content (the what), show this in the quality (the how).

Leva Styles has always had an interest in writing. Throughout her corporate career, spanning over 20 years, she's written, edited and published technical memos, reports, and company newsletters. As she thrived in the corporate environment, Leva identified her passion for writing book reviews, blogging, and editing independent (indie) author manuscripts.
During the release of a relative's book, Leva noticed that nearly every person in the room was a self-published author. Leva purchased and read all of those books, nurtured her interest in writing, and a passion for penning book reviews. In time, Leva realized that there was a need to assist writers in proofreading and editing manuscripts, blogs, and website content and switched her focus.
Leva firmly believes that books are one's mark in the universe. She states, "A book is your way of leaving your service, victories, and accomplishments to your successors." Her mission is to help people understand that they possess everything within to become the best version of themselves, and a method of demonstrating that is through writing.
She also desires to help indie authors understand the components of a particularly significant factor of self-publishing that is often overlooked: proofreading/self-editing. Self-publishers do not realize that they can reduce editing time and costs by taking time to perform edits themselves.
Her favorite quote is, "Do not let life impede your legacy!" That legacy is your book.
