    Attached is a sample marketing strategy.  I like to keep the overall strategy simple so it is both clear to you as well as your team.  You want your strategy to be easy to understand and easy to explain to others, the clearer it is the easier it will be to execute.

    Once you are clear on your strategy then you can start the process of identifying your audience, setting goals and deciding on what marketing tactics you will use to implement your strategy.

    But it all starts with developing a strategy!

    Attached are several template sheets to help you plan and organize your marketing strategy.  These template pages are from a future printed marketing planner I am creating.  It's a $29 value that is yours for free!


    There are several sheets, you are welcome to use all or just some of them.  You can print these sheets and place them in a binder and include it as part of your marketing strategy guide.  Some pages, like the Annual Timeline, Monthly, and Weekly planning pages are meant to be viewed side by side like you were viewing two pages of a book laid out in front of you.

    1 - Fill out the Marketing Assessment. Assessing the current state of your marketing is the first

    step in creating a highly effective marketing strategy for your business. Understanding where

    you are now will help you understand how to get where you want to go.


    2 - Plan your marketing goals. Create long (6-12 month) as well as short (30-90 days) term

    marketing goals for your business. Setting meaningful marketing goals will serve as a guide

    when creating and executing your marketing strategy throughout the year.


    3 - Fill out the Annual Marketing Timeline. Use this as your yearly snapshot of your marketing

    activities throughout the year. Fill out your marketing activities and shade the boxes to

    represent when you will be executing each activity throughout the year.


    4 - Fill out the Campaign Planner. Now that you have a marketing strategy in place for the

    year, you can use the Campaign Planner to plan and track the results of your individual

    marketing campaigns throughout the year.


    5 - Use the Monthly section to plan your marketing each month. Plan your big marketing

    activities as well as your goals for each month. Use the Monthly section to plan your weekly

    marketing plan each week.


    6 - Use the Weekly planner. Once per week, plan out your weekly marketing activities and use

    the Weekly section to keep track and to measure the effectiveness of your marketing strategy.


    Watch your marketing productivity soar. Now that you have an effective marketing strategy

    created and you are implementing it each week, bask in a glow of sunshine as you enjoy

    watching your happiness (and business) keep growing.


    Continue to assess and adjust your marketing goals. Make sure your marketing strategy is

    moving you towards your marketing goals, adjusting your strategy as needed. As you

    complete a goal, create a new one and keep the marketing machine you created moving

    forward!
