Description
In this vocal mixing crash course, we will first uncover the 6 key elements and components that make up a professional lead vocal sound. Because it's in understanding these 6 key elements and components that give a foundation to work from and give us a direction to go every time we mix our vocals. So this mini course is all about exploring some of my favorite techniques to be able to accomplish all of the elements on a consistent basis. We will cover 10 of the key techniques and ideas that are the foundation to help us achieve all of these components in our vocal mixes. We will look at vocal signal chain ideas, the importance of subtractive eq, how to use harmonics and distortion effectively, how to use stereo imagery the right way, utilizing delays for added dimension, carving space for the vocal in the beat and key compression and eq techniques. But the purpose of this course is to keep it short, sweet and simple and focus on what I believe to be the most effective and efficient way to achieve a professional vocal, no matter what you want your vocal sound to be for any particular track
Who this course is for:
- This course is for producers, artists, musicians & mixer engineers who are serious about learning how to mix and want to get a consistent professional sound with their music
Instructor
Right from the comfort of my own home studio, I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked on thousands of songs and worked with hundreds of artists from all around the world. I have over 18 years of recording experience in all areas of music production from being an artist to a recording engineer. I ended up loving the mixing process and eventually decided that I wanted to become a mix engineer and have happily been doing so for the last 11 years.
This has since lead me on to the most rewarding leg of my journey and that is in education and becoming a teacher and subsequently here with you now with the inception of Intession Music Tech! I’ve been teaching music professionally for 6 years in the local school district here in my hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and realized I can help serve the masses in the same way through online education.
But really, I’m just a regular guy who was able to find ways to make a comfortable living from my home studio without a major label resume. I'm just like every other musician , artist and producer out there looking to make a living in the music industry. And I've now reached a point in my life where my passions and goals are to teach people everything I know about home studio recording and development and to arm them with the skills they need to make professional music from home regardless of the gear or space you may have. And Intession Music Tech allows me to do this in a way I couldn't of imagined.
