Description

In Europe and the UK, pressure equipment is not governed by a code. It is governed by law.

Get the regulatory route wrong and a perfectly engineered vessel cannot legally be placed on the market. Operate a pressure system without an adequate written scheme of examination and the duty holder is personally exposed. These are not engineering judgements you can argue about — they are statutory obligations with enforcement behind them.

Almost all pressure-equipment training available online is US-centric and code-only: ASME, API, and the design rules. Useful, and not the thing that will land on your desk from a notified body or an HSE inspector. This course covers the regulatory landscape that governs the EU and UK market — the Pressure Equipment Directive for design and build, and the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations for operation.
