We live in turbulent times, and in many ways dangerous times. Listen to the news on the radio, or watch television, or read the newspapers, it will be enough to make your heart race and elevate your blood pressure. Almost everything you hear or read are beyond belief, and are more than enough to make you cringe. Innocent bystanders are usually caught in these horrors by being in the wrong place when these incidents occur.
Spring has been slow in coming to the Northeast this year, with lingering cold temperatures and the occasional flurry. But it was abundantly clear that spring weather is on its way at a family gathering this past weekend when my highly allergic brother sneezed no less than 100 times. I could be exaggerating the number, but I think he'd agree that there may as well have been that many. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. Once the weather warms up and flowers and trees begin to bloom, he'll likely add watery and itchy eyes, stuffy and runny nose, and a scratchy throat to his list of seasonal allergy symptoms.
self-esteem is in good working order. Before a stalker entered your life and started causing havoc were you a confident person or a bit of a push over?
If you were the former then though shocking you may find the situation easier to deal with. Most stalkers are insecure types who use weapons like fear and threat to get their victims where they want them. If you have a good sense of yourself then they will be in for a fight.

Networking is very important in whatever we do. Whether you want to get sales leads, find a new job, have new friends, enhance your career or get referrals, networking is one of your success tools. Diane Darling, the author of this text entitled "The Networking Survival Guide" is the founder and chief executive officer of Effective Networking, Inc., a Boston-based company that educates people on how to network.
According to the urban survival manual, a war that is carried out in highly populated areas such as towns, cities and metro cities is known as "urban warfare". This kind of warfare is very different to the conventional warfare in features such as planning and functioning. The unique features of urban warfare are the intricacy of the landscape and the involvement of civilians or the urban dwellers.
These urban dwellers take up the form of military residents who are armed and mostly go about in small groups so as to scare away the attackers and protect their homes. This tactic adopted by the civilians may make them look similar to the attackers which could land them into trouble.
In times of urban warfare, all kinds of arms and weapons are used without taking into consideration their disastrous outcomes. The urban setting can cause moderation in the use of combat techniques. For instance, it is highly illegal for the government's army to attack a residential area with a hefty number of soldiers.
I get 30 - 50 emails a day which is great because I love hearing from you guys and gals, especially when you make my head swell with words of praise and agreement. A lot of readers are seeking advice on one subject or another and while I try to respond to everyone, I do get covered up some times and loose an email in the mess. If I fail to answer in a timely manner please be patient, I will likely catch up in a couple of days.
The most common inquiry relates to food storage. It seems there has been so much written on the subject that some are getting lost within the mountain of words and are confused as to the what, how and the how much. While I am not the authority on the study of food storage, I have gained enough expertise though my own efforts to respond intelligently to readers with sound solutions to their problems.
Prepping is a phenomenon that has become so widely spread and popular in the recent years. This has gone to an extent of the making of TV shows that focus on prepping. There are people who are extremely prepped for catastrophe that could possibly hit the world and this is something that has caught the eyes of the public.
Simply defined, prepping is preparing for the uncertain future. This means that we are all technically peppers. This is because everyone is busy preparing for life. However, there are people who prepare more than others and go an extra mile. This is what makes preppers stand out from the rest of us.
The holidays can be a joyous time for so many. Those that suffer from chronic illness can find the holidays overwhelming. Every day is a struggle just to survive and then the pressure of everything surrounding the holidays starting from Thanksgiving till New Year's can cause an already depressed chronically ill person to be devastated.
They know they can't keep up and do everything that they would like to with their families and friends. It's not that a chronic ill person is antisocial; they just don't have the energy to do day to day things and the holiday's puts enormous pressure on the person who can barely make it through each day.
It's a dog eat dog world out there and you need to be careful about the choices you make in your life. If you're not vigilant, you can find yourself in a situation where you are left stranded, not knowing what to do, with the short end of the straw. This is also the case when it concerns any personal injury claim. There's no doubt that we all definitely need personal injury lawyers to help us claim the right compensation, so what the right way to approach or pursue a personal injury claim?
A personal finance budget is extremely important when it comes to your finances. Having a budget will allow you to manage your investments, your savings, and handle all of your bills in an effective manner.
Start the process by writing out all of your expenses. Then track your spending for at least a month, this includes not just your bills but your savings as well.
At the end of the month use the list of your expenses to categorize them either as needs or as wants. Please understand the basic difference here. A need is essential to your survival like food, shelter, clothes, heat. (it's unlikely that you would survive for long without food, heat or shelter so money allocated to rent, work clothes, heating oil, are needs-you can extend this to things like transportation as you would not be able to get to work to earn income otherwise (unless you telecommute of course).
Are you prepared to grow your own food? Preparedness seeds are also known as non-hybrid, open-pollinated, heirloom, non-gmo and survival seeds, and are a great addition to your survival gear. Some type of emergency garden or survival garden should be a part of your urban survival supplies in preparedness for a disaster. Preparedness seeds can also be used in your everyday garden too.
You've probably been hearing a lot about urban survival and the various aspects related to it. It may even influence you to enroll in a class or go to a boot camp and get yourself some form of intensive training.
However during this time you still don't know what SHTF actually means. SHTF stands for shit hits the fan. People who prepare themselves for the urban survival lifestyles and survivalists believe this is the stage when a civilization is undergoing a complete breakdown and there's a lot of unrest possibly from threats of civil unrest, a terrorist attack, war or an epidemic.
So you were confronted with a SHTF situation and you've still managed to pull through with great ease. Now that the situation is going back to normal and you may have to move back into your own home. But how do you deal with this SHTF aftermath? Who gives you the guarantee that you and your family won't still be affected?
Look around you. The state of our country is more unstable than it has been in decades. Our Government can't function, taxes are at an all-time high, and natural disasters are crippling many parts of the country. It's not if there will be a need to be self-reliant, but when there will be a need. That time is coming sooner rather than later.
One of the major tenets of emergency preparedness is that your emergency plan has been so well-developed and so thoroughly practiced that it is almost second nature - like an instinctive reaction. We cannot afford to be improvising a plan during the event. That would be like learning to play the violin during your first major performance.
Reaction time is especially important when we talk about earthquakes. There is no way to accurately predict when the next one will hit. They happen so fast that if we do not react immediately then we may be doomed.
Most of us imagine that when we do enter into a SHTF situation that the world will be a much more dangerous place. We know that desperate people do desperate things and there will probably be a lot of desperate people. Some will just be people who thought it would never happen here and did nothing to prepare while others will be out to take advantage of the situation and still others will choose the perceived safety that being in a gang provides.
Have you ever been in the wild? If so, what did you take with you? You may have taken a lot of gadgets with you so you don't have any problems. But what if you find yourself in the wild with nothing on you? How would you cope with this situation? What would you do to survive? Given below are some tips that may help you.
To many people, the word "Prepper" brings up notions of a camouflage wearing, gun-toting scary survivalist who is waiting for the end of the world. However, most Preppers are very ordinary people who don't stand out in a crowd. They are doctors and plumbers and lawyers and carpenters and school teachers. Most of them don't even own any camouflage!
So what is a "Prepper?"
Since the nature of emergencies are that they happen when they happen a good Doomsday Prepper needs to be prepared for many different contingencies.
Obviously most survival preppers will think of the obvious like food, shelter and security but what about actually planning for the emergency itself? What if a train car derailed and it was loaded with potentially letal chemicals and the plume were blowing your way? Your spouse is at work, the kids are at school and all hell breaks loose, or as we like to call it, when the shit hits the fan.
An important key to living a happy life is being stress free. Much of our day to day stress can be eliminated by preparing for potential emergencies. Often it seems like we don't have any serious issues that need in our lives that need attention, but we are simply unprepared for unforeseen events.
For some, having a nice car or a nice house is part of having security. True security and peace of mind is emergency preparedness. We all follow major crises as they happen, but are we prepared if we were to experience one ourselves?
Asking people in the prepping culture a simple question such as "What is the best survival method for prepping? Bunkering, Homesteading, Wilderness Survival or Other" will generate a great many discussions and even more very intense and well thought out replies and arguments. Most people will answer this question very quickly based on their own opinion or position in life, which is realistically the best way to answer the question. For those of us in the "business" of prepping we sometimes have to take a step back and look at the big picture. This is difficult for so many of us because we have spent years of time and vast amounts of resources building up our own preps and knowledge based on our own opinions and situations.
Instead let's try to view this from the prism of a person NEW to the prepping movement. A person with no discernible skill sets and no stored foods or items. The new prepper feels something bad is likely to happen in the "next few years".
As America heads towards an economic collapse due to its crazy national debt and runaway spending, we can learn some great lessons about how to prepare for the SHTF (Sewage Hits The Fan) that is to come by looking at what happened to Argentina
In 2001, Argentina plunged from being a very wealthy country with a large middle class to a country where the middle class all but disappeared. It was all due to uncontrolled government spending. Since the situation is so similar to what we have here in the United States today, the lessons learned are especially pertinent.
You don't have to be a "Doomsday Prepper" to appreciate that it is a great idea to have certain items with you in case of an emergency. Preppers and survivalists call these items their "EDC" (Every Day Carry) items. Depending on how far you take emergency preparedness, your EDC items may fill your pocket, a tactical "man-bag" or even a backpack in the trunk of your car.
Let's take a look at a very modest EDC system that can fit on your keychain and could prove to be a lifesaver if the SHTF (Sewage Hits the Fan) ever happens in America.
I have long been an opponent of hoarding gold for post SHTF trading. To this day I don't understand the concept of collecting gold in order to trade for food or supplies in the aftermath of a major event. Don't get me wrong, I understand the value of gold, and I understand the fact that humans have been trading with gold for thousands of years, I just don't know that you would get any real value out of it tomorrow.
Why do I have such a hard time understanding this? Well, here are some of my thoughts.
Budget
Before understanding the key concepts of budgeting, it is important to understand the meaning of budget. A budget is used to make a documentation of the translation of plans into money. So, the amount of money that needs to be spent in the planned strategies of the company would lie under the budget of that company. These planned strategies include the expenditure that a company incurs and also the income that the company predicts to make. So, in other words, a budget helps one to make an estimation of the amount of money that would be required for the company to handle the projects undertaken by it. It must also be understood that a budget is not made permanently. There are conditions under which a company can make changes in the budget and go as per as the needs of the market. As for example, if a company sees that the use of computers is not as had been planned in the budgeting; it would either replace it with something or not make any investment at all in the field. This is where the utility of controlling comes into the picture. Other than this a budget is also significant from other perspectives. If one talks about the resource allocation, budget has an equally important role to play in it. The reason for the same is that let's say that a company has budgeted that it can afford a certain amount of power supply for a certain project that is conducted in a village. Under the conditions, the amount of human resource that would be required to carry out the project can be determined from the budget itself.
Disaster will never make its presence known by knocking at your door before invading your peaceful abode and striking you down. Instead it will catch you off guard and in no time render your life to pieces.
So it is crucial for us to adopt the urban survivalist approach and work towards preparing ourselves for any contingency. The investment you make today will help you and your family whenever a real disaster strikes at any moment. In life and death situations, it is hard to think rationally and almost impossible to gather supplies at the very last minute. In a crisis situation, every second counts. The more prepared you are, the greater your chances of making it through.
When you are thinking about starting a long-term food storage program there a lot of things to consider. First off, what are your food storage goals? A common guideline is to start with a 3 month supply of foods you normally eat, and then build up a one year supply of longer-term foods.
What IS long term food storage? This concept is basically to have supply of food that can sustain your family for one year in case of a long-lasting emergency situation. These bulk foods tend to have long shelf lives and when combined with a few other ingredients can make a wide variety of meals. Some of the most common foods stored are wheat, oats, rice, legumes, powdered milk, oil, salt, yeast, etc. Basically the staple foods of any diet.
Everyone must be aware of the necessity of a first aid kit in their home and car. Businesses corporations must have necessary first aid supplies, located somewhere in their facility. If the building is large, they should have separate kits in each section.
It is important to have first aid kits, because they allow someone who is injured, to be rapidly treated with basic first aid, before they can be properly treated at the local hospital. Therefore in emergency circumstances, someone should know where the nearest first aid kit is located and how to use the contents within it.
Natural disasters have caused havoc in more than ten states in recent weeks. Tornadoes swept across Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Georgia, Colorado, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and North Carolina causing damage and loss of life. Twisters were also reported in Texas and out West in California and in Wyoming. California has also seen wildfires. Earthquakes have shaken Nevada. As if these events aren't enough, the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season is now underway and forecasters say we will likely experience a well-above average season.
It's no secret that ISIS is gunning for those who live in the West. And when you add the hostage situation in San Bernadino, it's safe to say that now's a great time to discuss what you should do if you find yourself in a similar situation.
When you sense danger, the first thing that you must do is find a good hiding place that offers cover from bullets or explosions. If you can, find a support beam or other dense structure for even more protection.
