In this course we will explain the de-risking process called: Pre-Mortem.
Pre-Mortem is a recently developed de-risking technique that is focusing on minimizing the risks of a project by proactively taking correctly actions.
The main concept is:
project your project into the future and simulate with a brainstorm the failure mechanisms. Then report back to the "now" and define which actions can be implemented in order to avoid these failure mechanisms.
In this course, we will use an example (called: project-car: target to build a car for an endurance race) in order to guide the students through the pre-mortem process.
The course is structured in this way:
- Introduction to the course
- Explanation of a Risk Management plan and the benefit of having one
- The key benefit of apply pre-mortem
- Pre-mortem process
--> Set-up and brainstorm
--> Brainstorm and risk collection
--> Risk analysis (both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis)
--> Risk owners and risk response definition
--> Risk monitoring
--> Closing of the course
Along the course, few practical tips will be provided based on multiyear experience in implementing this technique.
The course is available for free
Ensure to download the power point in the first section before attending the course. This is because the power point will be used throughout the course as guidance.
