The different between breathing and Pranayama is that in Pranayama we use the holdings of the breathe (internal & external). Have a look at the video and the notes.
Imagine that you hold a mirror with your hand and you want to blur it with your breath. Try now to do it with your nose and your mouth closed by bringing your palm (mirror) close to your face. And now, try to blur creating the same sound as you inhale...That is the sound of your ocean! Basically, this sound is provoked by sucking the energy up when engage Mula Bandha (activate and suck towards your center genitals, perineum and anus).
Nadi Shodhana has various versions depending on time we do it and the nostril we start and finish the circle of breath...
Bhastrika or Kapalabhati is a powerful Pranayama technique (in Hatha Yoga are different techniques). If you are a beginner try to do it slowly at the beginning of this wonderful trip of Pranayama...
Is the cooling breath (like Sheetkari) and you can feel the difference at the first inhale. To make it more intense you can create saliva at your mouth before inhalation.
In this video we will see the main asanas that we can use to gain all the qualities of practicing pranayama. The most important thing is to find a pose that would be comfortable for your body.

Kriyas are techniques to unlock energy channels, detox our body and prepare it for pranayama and yoga practice. In this video we will practice 3 of them at beginners variation
Usually one of our nostrils is not as open as the other. This is normal during our day but when we practice Pranayama or Asanas we want both of them to be equally opened so the air can flow freely in and our of our body.
Cleansing breaths is the final preparation step for our body before practicing Pranayama.

They wrote about the course:
* I was looking for a course to help me in my own Yoga Instructor Development. Studying all online from the beginning, I was feeling overwhelmed by some of the complex study areas of Yoga, such as Pranayama, that are hardly understandable through the books I had been offered to study. Thanks to this class, everything is now much clearer and not only I understand the whole concept of Pranayama but I feel as well confident to teach it in my future classes. The structure is clear and coherent, the information is relevant and rich and the quizzes add a fun touch to the class! Wholeheartedly recommended to whoever seeks a comprehensive approach of the technics of breathing in Yoga! - Lisa Fras
* Very interesting step by step approach with clear instructions and sequences. Very helpful and very complete and detailed pdf files included - Sanne Djaroud
