What are we going to learn in the next four weeks?
What does 'Pranayama' mean? Why do we need it in our lives?
Diaphragmatic breathing is the most basic and fundamental kind of breathing. Be comfortable with it to start your journey with Pranayama.
The Yogis breathe on three levels. Find out how and use it to improve your everyday breathing.
Energizing cleansing technique for the morning. The quick ignition to pull you in the daily Pranayama practice.
Learn how to regularly keep your nasal cavity clean.
With the breath we can clear the nasal passages as well as the energy channels of our subtle body. This cleansing technique balances the left and the right side of our body, brain, and nervous system.
Like the bellows, ignite the fire in and around your stomach.
A Bandha is a lock by which we achieve a pumping effect. We can combine it with Pranayama. It involves holding the breath, so it is an advanced technique.
Once you are comfortable with doing Bhastrika regularly, as well as Jalandhara Bandha, you can progress to the next level: add Uddiyana Bandha to the mix. This is a very powerful intensifier that will improve your metabolism, strengthen your rectus abdominis muscle as well as create an 'energy wave' that will resonate in the whole body.
A Mudra or a Meditation technique? In any case, it helps with concentration.
You can do the Ocean Breath alone, or in combination with Kechari Mudra. Even better, why not combine it with Shambavi Mudra to intensify the calming effect in the whole head.
Keep on using the techniques in the years to come!
I promised I'd give you some tips on how to unblock your nostrils.
Breathing is the most essential function of any living being. Everyone does it, so the fundamentals often get overlooked. If you intend to start a yoga practice, or return to it, if you started some time ago and forgot the basics, if you are just curious and want to test it for yourself, this is the perfect opportunity to try it out, at your own pace, from the comfort of your home.
You will learn the techniques of energizing and calming Pranayamas, and cleansing techniques that will bring you physical and mental balance. You will also get a glimpse into some more advanced variations and executions of the Pranayamas, and you will learn when NOT to do them, so that you stay on the safe side.
I will not make wild claims or emphasize marginal scientific evidence that link certain techniques to magic healing results. This course will give you the stepping stones for your own personal discovery. Succinct instructional videos and assignments do not have the new-age over enthusiastic subtext. All the information is based on two essential Yogic resources that have been used by yoga teachers around the world.
You will receive a tool for self-monitoring and progress, which will help you stay consistent in your practice even after the course.
Ideally, you will practice each Section for a week, so that you experience the benefits and the improvement in practice.
In that way, the course will take four weeks to complete.
