Practice Structural Engineering SE Exam (Vertical Breadth)

This exam is a computer-based test (CBT) format and include two tests.

Practice Test 1 -  Platform Acquaintance:

Intended to familiarize user with CBT format.

10 mins with 2 questions.

Practice Test 2 -  Practice NCEES's Structural Engineering (SE) Vertical Breadth:

55 graded questions and detailed solutions to all questions with references to design standards.

5.5 hours with exam duration.

Self regulated: One 20-minute break.

Topics include:

Analysis of Structures: Generation of Loads, Load Distribution and Analysis Methods

Design and Details of Structures: General Structural Considerations, Structural Systems Integrations, Structural Steel, Cold-Formed Steel, Concrete, Wood, Masonry, Foundation and Retaining Structures

Intended passing score: 70%

All questions use U.S. Customary Section (USCS) of units.

Please note that the intention of this exam to simulate the intensity of the exam within a timed session in an online format while quickly navigating codes or manuals as efficiently as possible. For this practice test, all codes necessary to answer the questions are sole responsibility of the candidate. Replicating the exact format of NCEES testing is NOT the intention of this test. During NCEES Exam please follow on-screen guidelines to ensure all your responses are properly recorded.

This exam is NOT intended for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) aiming to pass the NCEES Professional Engineer Civil (Structural) Exam. This exam is geared towards licensed Professional Engineers (PE) preparing to pass SE Exam.
