Description

Private Practice Kick Start is an online virtual course for LPC-Associates in the state of Texas who are interested in starting a virtual private practice and are looking for where to start. This course includes over 60 minutes of video slide shows and 3 downloadable resources.

We will cover who I am and why I made the course, the basic pros and cons of starting a private practice, the non-negotiable parts of a private practice (the bare bones of what you must have ready to go), brief knowledge on basic important topics, who you might need on your team through this process, and some basic marketing tips.

Some of the specific topics covered are quarterly taxes, general info on sole proprietorship vs PLLC, how to track income and expenses, choosing a supervisor, using a lawyer or CPA, how much to charge, using a sliding scale, online marketing options, general costs and overhead for things like EHRs and website, and much more! These are all topics I commonly see people asking about on the LPC-Associates of Texas Facebook page!

Due to my personal scope and the scope of this course, the following is not provided:

- Advice on choosing a business structure (PLLC, LLC, etc)

- Lessons on how to actually DO your accounting

- Advice on how to do your taxes

- Pre-made client documents

- Information about what client documents should include (this is outlined by the state and the board and can be Googled)

- How to make a business plan and policies

Please watch the free Introduction lecture to learn more about the goals of this course!
