Description

Powtoon Ltd. is a British company that sells cloud-based animation software (SaaS) for creating animated presentations and animated explainer videos. The name "Powtoon" is a portmanteau of the words "PowerPoint" and "Cartoon".

Powtoon is one of the world’s leading, most user-friendly, and most intuitive animation software. It is a web-based animation software that allows users to create animated presentations by manipulating pre-created objects, imported images, provided music and user created voice-overs.   Powtoon gives anyone the ability to create professional videos and presentations. You can select from royalty-free libraries of animation, live-action video, images, designed backgrounds, soundtracks, and moving graphics, or you can use your own visual content and voiceover.

Students and teachers alike can create quality animated video presentations to showcase their understanding of a specific topic. Teachers can also create their own Powtoons as an alternative approach to teaching topics.

Powtoon uses an Apache Flex engine to generate an XML file that can be played in the Powtoon online viewer, exported to YouTube, or downloaded as an MP4 file.

Powtoon is also available on the Google Chrome Store and has an application on Edmodo. Some of the popular Powtoon integrations are HubSpot, Google Sites, Google Drive, Panopto, YouTube, Facebook, and SlideShare.
