You Are the Only Presentation. The Powerpoint  is just the Visual Aid. Use it wisely to improve the impact of your presentation. 

Follow these simple steps to improve your Scientific Presentation Quality: 

1. You are the 1st and most important factor of the presentation.

2. You have 2 visual aids: Text and Figure. Use wisely to draw focus and deliver a clear message. 

3. Structure of a scientific presentation has 3 steps, answering 3 questions in order: 

- Why should people care 

- How you solved the problem

- What are the findings 

And end with 1 clear take home message relating it to big picture "Why should people care?"    

How to use Transparency to create a "pop-up effect" and draw the focus on a certain section of the figure in these 3 simple steps. 

-Step 1: Duplicate figure

-Step 2: In figure 1, crop out the part you want to focus. In figure 2, increate the Transparency

-Step 3: Put Figure 1 (cut out portion) on top of Figure 2 (transparent whole picture). 

Remember 3 things when presenting your data: 

1 information at a time ( 1 result - 1 conclusion - in 1 slide)

2 axes of the chart can be design in contrast for the best effect 

3 seconds is the maximum time needed to understand your data (in both chart or table)
