Power BI is a business analytics service that delivers insights to enable fast, informed decisions. The first release of Power BI was based on the Microsoft Excel–based add-ins: Power Query, Power Pivot and Power View. In 2015 it was released to general public. In February 2020, Gartner confirmed Microsoft as Leader in the “2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platform” as result of the capabilities of Power BI platform.
