Overview

The PMI-PBA® certification is designed for professionals who work with stakeholders to define requirements and shape project outputs. It validates your expertise in business analysis within a project or program environment.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the PMI-PBA exam, you must meet one of the following:

If You Have a Bachelor’s Degree or Global Equivalent:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or global equivalent)

• Business Analysis Experience: 3 years (4,500 hours) within the past 8 years

• Business Analysis Education: 35 contact hours

If You Have a High School Diploma or Associate Degree:

• Education: High school diploma (or global equivalent)

• Business Analysis Experience: 5 years (7,500 hours) within the past 8 years

• Business Analysis Education: 35 contact hours

Exam Format

• Number of Questions: 200 multiple-choice questions

• Time Limit: 4 hours

• Question Types: Mostly situational and scenario-based

• No scheduled breaks (though you may take unscheduled ones; clock continues)
