Description
A Pipe rack is a space allocated for routing several parallel adjacent pipelines within process plants. It is the structure employed for carrying the pipelines, electrical & instrument trays.
REQUIREMENT OF A PIPE RACK
1. To arrange process & service pipelines throughout the plant.
2. To provide a protected location for auxiliary equipment, pumps, utility stations, manifolds, fire fighting & first aid stations.
3. To mount Lighting & other fixtures on columns.
4. To locate Air-cooled equipment & air coolers at elevated heights.
In this course, Many factors influenced the design of pipe racks in the Oil and gas processing facility.
You Will Learn:
Input Requirements for Development of rack layout
Line routing Diagram
Loads
Calculation of pipe rack width
Availability of space
Future space requirement
Guidelines for Rack Piping
Pipe Spacing inside Pipe rack
Expansion loops in a Pipe Rack etc.
Valve location
Meter run locations
Requirement of fireproofing on Pipe Racks
