Femur Arcs is another name for laying on your back and lifting your knee up at a ninety degree angle, one side at a time.
Most of the pilates exercises are done in flat back, however neutral spine is your position of strength, i want everyone to know the difference and be able to do each one. Only move as far as you can keep the strap still, and use the breathe to squeeze all your air out to really stabilize !!!
Now keep all the cues and skills you have learned and turn them upside down and come onto your hands and knees, this exercise looks easy but there is actually a lot going on.
So many people come to me and tell my that their necks really hurt when trying to execute certain stomach exercises, here is a simple explanation on how to strengthen your stomach muscles while supporting your head correctly.
This is about 10 minutes worth of stomach exercises.
When we are given these bodies, sadly, the software to operate them is not automatically downloaded nor a natural understanding of how to look after these bodies or operate them !!!
Body awareness is not gifted to everyone,
a genuine knowledge of what each joint range is,
how to breathe
how to take care of our bodies to operate at our best,
how to prevent injury,
how to deal with recovering from an injury,
how to feed and nurture your specific body............ its a lifetime journey.
And we know now that our minds are our bodies and our bodies are our minds.........say it again, slowly.
