Description

This beginners course is suitable for students from 8 - 16 years of age who are interested in learning all the fundamentals required to start preparing for the Australian Music Examination Board (AMB) Preliminary Piano and AMEB Theory of Music Grade 1 exam .

This intensive course covers 3 years of piano and music theory learning materials.

In the AMEB Piano and Theory of Music exams, students will be asked to: 
- Perform a few pieces of contrasting styles

- Show technical ability through short exercises and scales

- Name and explain music symbols

- Sing short passages of music

- Clap rhythms

- Sight read a short line of music

- Write short songs

In this course we cover everything students need to know to build the confidence to progress onto our AMEB exam preparation courses or start preparing for AMEB exams with a private piano teacher.

Each lesson has two parts. Part 1 covers piano songs and exercises. Part 2 covers music theory.

Throughout the book, students will see icons that give useful tips on how to practise and creative performance ideas. Let these icons be your guide.

We have included many colourful illustrations in this course to help make music learning fun and exciting for primary and secondary school students.
